This compensation relates to in excess of 300,000 customers who have been sold insurance by the firm Credit Card Protection. It’s also been noted that a higher volume of credit card holders were sold the CPP policies by the mainstream banks. This figure is estimated to be in region of around 4.1million.

CPP had arrangements with Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered, Yorkshire Bank, Barclays and HSBC.

The FSA reported widespread mis-selling of CPP’s two main products between January 2005 and March 2011.
