The FSA also ordered CPP to repay what could be £14.5m in redress to its customers. This compensation relates to in excess of 300,000 customers who have been sold insurance by the firm Credit Card Protection.
It’s also been noted that a higher volume of credit card holders were sold the CPP policies by the mainstream banks.
This figure is estimated to be in region of around 4.1million.
If you are one of these customers who have been missold a CPP policy then we would like to hear from you.
CPP had arrangements with Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered, Yorkshire Bank, Barclays and HSBC. At this moment in time its not certain that the mainstream banks will actually be involved in compensation talks with the FSA but some leading authorities are expecting the banks will also be fined.
The FSA reported widespread mis-selling of CPP’s two main products between January 2005 and March 2011.
It is unknown as yet is policy holders taking out the insurance prior to these dates are eligible to make a claim, nevertheless, we would still like to hear from you.
